Focus Label Machinery, alongside partners Konica Minolta, Phoseon Technology and Industrial Inkjet will be showcasing UV LED and digital print solutions via flexo, toner and inkjet. Presenting the latest in drying systems, KM1800i inkjet integration and Konica Minolta toner technology at our showroom here in Bingham, close to Nottingham.
Over two days, we will present our premium product, the Proflex 330SE servo flexo press, equipped with UV LED curing. This will enable a workshop of technical know-how and guidance, not just in the investment but the overall lifetime costs, savings and benefits using UV LED technology.
These investments add value to our showroom production and in conjunction we will be showing our hybrid digital inkjet/flexo technology in the d-Flex Hi Q, with the latest Konica Minolta heads, the KM1800i, available with CMYK plus White and full cure UV LED. This continuous development and investment is to ensure Focus and our customers are at the cutting edge in the market.
Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 :
Extremely simple to operate, The AccurioLabel 230 toner press is ideal for label printers who are looking to move into digital, or who have existing digital technology such as inkjet, but need to be able to offer an alternative. With 23.4 m/min print speeds, and a native 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, the output quality competes favourably against other high-end digital presses which cost three to four times the price. It is able to run standard 330mm width coated paper, uncoated paper and polypropylene label materials with no special pre-coating.
The press comes with Konica Minolta’s own AccurioPro Label Impose software, which optimises the use of media by automating jobs, such as impositioning and step-and-repeat, as well as support for variable data printing. It works on a simple drag-and-drop principle - where the one-up, print-ready PDF file is simply placed into the software, which then performs the necessary functions. This is complemented by a Konica Minolta Myiro Auto Scan Spectrophotometer, which provides the ability to accurately profile and calibrate colours in around four minutes. This technology enables significant savings in time and waste.
Focus are also partners with Lundberg Tech for Matrix and edge trim waste removal and have installed a WasteTech 80, an 'all-in-one' unit to capture, cut and collect edge trim waste.
LED curing is now an established investment alternative, as consumable costs are competitive - and the need for a more sustainable use of factory power consumption becomes ever more desired. LED ink formulation and drying efficiencies have also advanced significantly in recent years.
Konica Minolta digital inkjet technology has enabled Focus to design a highly efficient hybrid press, creating the opportunity for blank reel to fully finished product in a single pass, with both flexo and inkjet combined, utilising drying technologies in IR, UV and now UV LED at speeds of 100+ mpm.
